Diane Kruger, German actress and former model, has been getting plenty of attention during the Cannes Film Festival which recently ended, both for being a judge, fund raising for charity, and also for her choices in fashion. So I’ve decided to cover her as the current ambassador for Jaeger LeCoultre’s classic Reverso watch. The Grande Reverso Lady Ultra Thin being the latest addition to the long-running collection, which has been seen on her wrist on plenty of occasions, along with her modeling it for the brand.

The Reverso was created in 1931 as a watch for Polo, that could have the dial flipped over to protect it during a match. Soon after, its simple, squared Art-Deco design became the universal standard in classy dress watches, for both men and ladies. It has only seen mild but always tasteful updates or variations since. Now with their latest version, released last year for the watch’s 80th birthday, it seems Jaeger LeCoultre has nearly reached perfection.
Exclusive for the ladies, this version measures minute 7.17mm thick, with a slight curve to to the 39mm vy 24mm case, which is to meet the shape of a woman’s wrist. The house-made, hand-wound movement measures only 2.9mm thick. A slivered guilloche sunray-brushed dials play against a variety of precious metal cases. Alligator, satin and a new metal bracelet are offered to match. The model shown here has a 18k pink gold case, with 31 diamonds weighing .45 carats.
