The Jules Audemars Collection was named after one of Audemars Piguet’s founders; Jules-Louis Audemars. In 1875 Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet (the namesake of the Edward Piguet Collection) became business partners and began creating high-end timepieces with amazing complications. To this day, Audemars Piguet has master craftsmen making timepieces by hand that pay homage to the work of the company’s founders.
According to Audemars Piguet, the Jules Audemars Collection is designed with “Inspired Classicism”. Instead of sporting the octagonal bezel the Royal Oak is known for, Jules Audemars have a classic round bezel and case. These timepieces are for the gentleman that wants a simpler look, yet still desires to be refined.
One especially impressive timepiece from this collection, with a retail value of $504,200, is the Jules Audemars Minute Repeater Tourbillon Chronograph. Fitted with the finest mechanical complications by Audemars Piguet, due to its heavy use of diamonds, this piece crosses over into their High Jewelry Collection.
The Jules Audemars Repeater Tourbillon Chronograph looks like the other timepieces found in the collection except its 18K white gold case strays from the “simplistic” look and demands one’s attention with its shining diamonds. The case is set with a staggering total of 451 white diamonds, 415 of them being brilliant-cut (approximately 3.55 carats) and 36 baguette-cut (approximately 3.35 carats). The watch’s black dial has a decorative spiral pattern with white gold Roman numeral markers and hands. To finish off the watch’s elegant look, the hand-stitched black crocodile leather strap has a striking diamond-set 18K white gold AP deployant clasp.
