As a massive Mad Men fan, I’m excited to see this great collaboration between the multi-Emmy and Golden Globe winning series on AMC and Jaeger-LeCoultre. If you aren’t familiar with the show, it is based around a fictional ad agency on Madison Avenue in the 1960s, that is said to be loosely based on the real ad agency, DDB. It revolves around the work and lives of the staff, starring John Hamm as Don Draper.
Mad Men and Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso watch are the perfect match, and has already made several appearances on the wrist of main character Don Draper, as well as several appearances by the actor John Hamm at Jaeger-LeCoultre events. After Don Draper’s promotion in season 2, he upgrades from a silver to a gold Reverso. And for those not familiar wit the Reverso watch, it’s considered one of the most well known models in the world, with it’s art deco design originating in the 1930s and continuing to this day. It’s slim, classy design has been popular on the wrists of men and women as a low-key but dressy watch. This made an accurate fit into the aesthetics of the Mad Men world.
The Mad Men Reverso is limited to 25 pieces, with each piece hand-inscribed with the number and the show’s agency (Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce) appearing on the back. It comes in a custom commemorative walnut box, again branded with the show’s fictional agency.
It also comes with a personalized letter from Roger Sterling (Dop Draper’s fictional boss), along with a signed copy of “Sterling’s Gold”. “Sterling’s Gold” is a book written as a fictional memoir of character Roger Sterling, which is part of the show’s plot.
